Fall Fashion: Another Year with More Gear by Ashley Tarrolly

With the new year comes new fashion. It is exciting to be in the hallways and see everybody dressed up so nicely each day. Well, that is, right now.

In about one month, everyone will be in sweats and a sweatshirt. But hey, who doesn’t love first impressions, especially for that cute person you pass in the hallway after period 4. Every year brings about new styles. This year, many girls have been wearing skinny jeans and tube tops. Jean skirts and a sporty crop top have been popular. Denim jackets and graphic tees are also making their rounds again.

On the bolder side, some females are choosing the style of a tight tank top with palazzo pants. Many have been creating their own styles and branching out as well. It is extremely fun to see people not only keeping up with the latest trends but also starting new ones.

Have you ever heard that boys don’t change? Well neither do their clothes. After talking to many girls about their opinion on this subject, most responded will an eye roll and disappointed shrug.

Though some guys do take the time to put in effort by wearing khakis and a nice shirt, most take the route of Air Jordan shorts and a wrinkled t-shirt from the bottom of their clean laundry pile. Well, according to them, it is only sometimes from their clean pile.

Now, for the staples. If you haven't already spent all your back to school shopping money and you are looking for some things in the longlasting trend category, here are some ideas. Every year, there are definitely things that do not change. For example, Under Armour shorts are classic, something seen every year, and never go out of style.

In addition, investing in a nice pair of jeans and a pair of white Converse or Vans might be a good idea. An athletic sweatshirt is never a bad idea either. You also can never go wrong with an oversized warm sweater.

No matter what you decide to put on, nothing says fashion more than confidence and class. Be your own person. Don’t dress like everyone else because that is no fun. It is cool and okay to stand out a little!
