With the new year, many people have resolutions that would not be possible without being organized. Being organized will help you be more time efficient, productive, and will overall lower stress. There are many different ways to be organized, these tips are a few of those ways.

One tip for staying organized is to write a list of things to do the next day. Taking time each night to write down what you have to do the next day will help you not forget things you wanted to do and also will help you make the most use of your time. Using a planner to write down each thing you want to do each day will make it easy to follow along with.

When writing the list, it would help to pick the top three things you want to do so you won’t feel overwhelmed with a long list. This will ensure you will get the most important will get done. As the day goes on, you can always add onto the list as you complete each item. Using a planner will ensure you get what you want done.

You can also write down big events in the monthly section of the planner. Writing events such as birthdays, parties, weddings, etc., will be a helpful reminder of what you need to prepare for. Writing events on a hanging monthly calendar such as a paper calendar, dry erase calendar, or a chalk calendar would be constantly seen, creating a constant reminder of each event.

Another tip is to set aside a day to do necessary things that are usually dreaded. A few examples you could add onto this list could be doing laundry, cleaning, going grocery shopping, etc. Putting aside a day to do these things will provide relief and make you feel productive. A good day for this would be Sunday as it is usually the least busiest day, though the day you choose would be whatever personally works best for you.

The third tip I’ve realized helps keep me organized is having a set routine. Whether that’s in the morning, night, or both, having a routine will benefit you in multiple ways. A morning routine would lessen the chance of leaving the house without something you meant to take with you. It would also take up less time in the morning as you get used to the routine.

A night routine would save you a lot of time and help you be more productive. An example of a night routine you could have would consist of you getting home and making dinner for yourself first. After, you could get out your planner and the work you have to do right away. This will make sure that you won’t wait or procrastinating completing your work.
