Do not be fooled! S.A.D.D. is not so sad! In fact, it is not sad at all. S.A.D.D. is club at Tech that stands for “Students Against Destructive Decisions.” The mission of S.A.D.D. is to empower teens, mobilize communities, engage parents, and change lives.

S.A.D.D. was a program started many years ago centering around the topic of drinking and driving. It used to stand for “Students Against Drinking and Driving.” However, over the years, it has expanded to encompass alcohol abuse, drug abuse, and more. Now, its main focus is to prevent all destructive decisions.

S.A.D.D. consists of the categories of traffic safety, substance abuse, and personal health and safety. Some events related to S.A.D.D. are “Rock the Belt”, which is a week at the end of October that promotes wearing a seatbelt, “Substance Abuse Risk” week in April, and a “S.A.D.D. Shines” week in February. There will also be a Mock Crash around the time of Prom to encourage safety on Prom night as well as throughout the whole year.

S.A.D.D. is a great club that not only teaches one about good decision making, but also works to spread the message to other students and teens. The goal of S.A.D.D. is to ensure having fun while also being safe.

It would be a fantastic idea to consider joining this club as it can teach any valuable lessons while still being able to hang out with your friends and do fun activities. Joining S.A.D.D. is a way to get involved with your school. Everyone is treated equally and has the opportunity to share ideas and thoughts regarding a topic. This club displays a excellent sense of community and is very inclusive toward all who want to join.

I hope you consider joining S.A.D.D. It is a great club, and I know you will not regret it! I guarantee joining S.A.D.D. won’t make you sad!
