When walking through the hallway every morning, it’s not difficult to spot students and teachers carrying coffee and Waite Fusion cups. Students will often drive by Waite Fusion or a coffee place before school, and the amount of people that have at least one of these drinks is astounding. It is convenient, and caffeinated drinks are a popular option for a quick wake-up just before class.
Students arrive with many variations of drinks, from protein shakes, tea, and smoothies, to coffee and coffeeless coolers. With a variety of options that appeal to almost anyone, people find a drink that may become their go-to, and the obsession begins. Once you start getting a drink on a regular basis, you are hooked on the flavor and caffeine content.
Drinks have been made widespread for everyone to enjoy, with the wide variety of choices to choose from. This includes different healthy shake flavors, coffee with so many shots of espresso, coffee drinks with or without the actual coffee in it, and the choice of temperature of the coffee in hot presses, cold presses, and blended drinks.
What was once a drink purchased to enjoy on weekends or after staying up late to work on an assignment turns into a daily routine. It can be nice to quickly go and get a drink to add a little joy to every Monday, but it soon becomes something that every student and teacher needs to start their day off without feeling as though they are lacking in a daily dose of protein or caffeine. It has become a new trend to get a coffee or a tasty shake in the morning to replace breakfast.
Although many people enjoy these drinks on a daily basis, too much coffee can damage your liver, raise your blood pressure, cause troubles falling asleep, and become addicting. Withdrawal from all caffeine can cause headaches and extreme tiredness.
Shakes, self-advertised as healthy, can be consumed in moderation, such as when used as a supplement for breakfast to get some quick nutrition; however, when they are used as an extra drink on top of regular meals or consumed too often, the shakes can just be extra calories that may not help with weight loss at all.
Overall, the Waite Fusion and coffee obsession can be seen everywhere, and although fun drinks can help to boost your mood and provide a little wake-up or nutrition, they should be consumed in moderation.
