There are numerous festivities to look forward to in the 2018-2019 school year, such as the upcoming football games, the new Tech, sports, clubs, the musical, and of course, homecoming. Many students are excited to attend to the forthcoming dances. They are excited to show their school spirit during homecoming week and to watch and cheer with fervor for their homecoming royalty as they strut around the gym. Most of the students are excited to see what themes and decorations they have in store for the dances, and some even pitched ideas such as a Disney theme for Prom. The most popular advice this school year among the freshmen class is to “get involved and be a part of activities to get the full high school experience.” Freshmen are excited to participate in speech, language clubs, the yearbook, and student council. For freshmen, a new school means new teachers, classes, and friend groups. They are eager to have set routines for high school, which is mandatory to maintain good grades and stay on top of homework.

Sophomore year is the time when most high school students are turning sixteen, and they are excited for the small taste of freedom that getting their driver's licenses brings. One of the most common replies to the question “What are you looking forward to most this year?” was either “not being a freshman and being called a ‘freshie’ or ‘fresh meat’ anymore” or “not being the youngest and now getting to pick on the freshmen about not knowing which side of the hallway to walk on or kicking them to the back of the student section at football games.” The sophomores feel as if they are moving up in the world of high school as the upperclassman traditions of joking around with freshmen carries on.

The juniors are thrilled for their first year of prom, and most girls cannot wait to pick out their beautiful prom dresses. Of course, everyone's waiting to see the amazing promposals to come too. They are excited for the decorations and the excitement the night will bring. Additionally, the juniors seem more excited for this year to be over than for the year itself and are on the edge of their seats with anticipation to get started with senior year. They cannot wait for their final year of high school and the rush of excitement that is bottled up, ready to explode at graduation. It seems as though juniors are more excited than the actual seniors because they are not taking on the stress of writing and filling out college applications that seniors have to endure around this time of year.

Many of the seniors are looking forward to their last year of high school and the final memories they will be making at many school events. A lot of the seniors are honored to be the final graduating class of Technical High School and they cannot wait for the bitter sweetness of graduation and being on their way to new lives. Although many are not looking forward to the nerve racking and anxiety prone situation of choosing a college to attend, choosing a career and a path to take is pretty exhilarating.
