New Year’s resolutions are known to be almost impossible to keep. In fact, only about 8% of people who make New Year’s resolutions actually achieve them. On average, 80% of New Year resolution are forgotten about by February, showing that most people do not believe in keeping them.

Most New Year’s resolutions often involve working out more or eating healthier food. Some Tech students doing this are Chloe Kellar, Taylor Maiers, and Izzy Neville. Chloe believes that she has been successful, and she hopes to continue with her resolution. She says, “I wanted to improve myself muscle wise, so I started going to the gym three times a week, and so far, I feel like I have been able to gain more of the muscle I wanted.”

Taylor has also been successful with her obtaining her goal by eating healthier whenever the opportunity arises. She says, “My main objective is to eat healthy and workout to become stronger and more fit for my upcoming lacrosse and soccer seasons. I do this by participating in a workout program at the gym I go to, and also by packing healthier lunches that I can eat at school.”

Izzy keeps her resolution by trying to improve in her weightlifting. She says, “When I go to the gym, I try to work harder than I did last time.”

Some people even focus their resolution on doing better in school, like Grace Hennen. Grace says, “My resolution is to stop procrastinating when it comes to doing my homework. I will do this by evening out the number of minutes I do my homework each night.” Grace says that since she has made this resolution, she has felt less stressed and more at ease when it comes to doing her assignments.

However, some students do not feel the need for a resolution. Kylie Erickson says, “I do not need to make a resolution because my goal is to always better myself under any circumstances.”
